Lisa Grob's paintings have appeared in numerous group and solo shows and can be found in private and corporate collections. In the 1990s, after years of working in oil, Lisa became interested in watercolors and now works solely in that medium. While Lisa is a self-taught artist, she has studied under internationally known landscape artist Nita Engle, AWS and has attended workshops of several well-known artists including Ted Mitchen, AWS and Cheng-Khee Chee, AWS. Prior to launching her artistic career, Lisa was a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Lisa is currently the New Jersey editor of Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine. “I work in watercolor because I love the freedom and spontaneity of media. I utilize the very nature of the media by throwing, splashing, and running the colors across the paper rather than using a brush to introduce the paint to each section of the painting. I think of my method as controlled chaos. The only controlled phase in my work is the initial sketch. From there on, it's every droplet of color for itself!”
