Theresa Troise Heidel
Primarily painted on location, Theresas watercolors reflect a love of architecture and keen understanding of light and atmosphere. She is a graduate of Saint Peters College in Jersey City and undertook graduate studies at the Accademia delle Belli Arti in Florence, Italy. Theresa has taught watercolor at the Ridgewood Art Institute in Ridgewood, New Jersey as well as conducting workshops and giving watercolor demonstrations. She has also been elected to the New Jersey Watercolor Society was appointed second Vice President. She is an artist in residence on the Queen Mary 2 for cruises around the world. Her artwork was featured in the December 1989, "Watercolor Page" of American Artist Magazine. In the fall 2006 issue of Watercolor Magazine, the editors of American Artist Magazine chose her as one of twenty emerging watercolorists across the nation. In 2008, Theresa's watercolor "Rockport Light" was accepted and featured in "Celebrate Watercolor 2008," the annual juried exhibition of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. The show was at the Bloomington Art Center in Bloomington, Minnesota and represented artists from across the United States and Canada. In November 2009, Theresa will be the juror for watercolors for the upcoming Grand National Exhibition of the American Artists Professional League 2009 Juried Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club (47 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY). And for the month of November, she will be having an exhibition, "From Shore to Shore" at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ. Theresas paintings have been featured in Jersey Shore Vacation Magazine & Map, Jersey Shore Magazine, and Jersey Shore Home and Garden. She was also featured on the cover of the 1995 Monmouth County Cancer Society Ad Book Journal as well as advertisements of the Monmouth County Tourism Board. Fifty-six of her watercolors have been published in the books "To the Shore Once More, Volumes I and II" and "Long Beach Island Rhapsody." She resides in Ridgefield Park, NJ.
